Goal of One Book, One Community

The goal of South Haven: One Book, One Community is to foster the love of reading and build a sense of community through reading the same book and participating in shared experiences. This project seeks to promote lively discussion among people in our community, reflecting a variety of life circumstances, diversity, and a range of ages, from high school to senior citizens.

Criteria for Book Selection

  • Promotes goal of South Haven:  One Book, One Community
  • Readable, broad appeal, and appropriate for intended audience
  • Promotes discussion and exchange of ideas
  • Priced affordably and readily available in several formats, including paperback, large print, and audio books

Selection for 2010

South Haven readers are encouraged to read Marley & Me by John Grogan and participate in related activities beginning in January 2010.  Books are available for check-out at the South Haven Memorial Library.
