South Haven: One Book - One Community
The goal of South Haven: One Book, One Community is to foster the love of reading and build a sense of community through reading the same book and participating in shared experiences. This project seeks to promote lively discussion among people in our community, reflecting a variety of life circumstances, diversity, and a range of ages, from high school to senior citizens. The first experience was outstanding as testified by Ann Habitch in her letter to the editor. A full report on the success of the 2006-2007 One Book Read is found here.
Now it is time to nominate titles for next year and the year after, keeping in mind the following criteria. Ideally, these titles would meet all the criteria, but more importantly, we're looking for books that will provide our community with a great reading experiences! Criteria for Book Selection
- Promotes goal of South Haven: One Book, One
Community
- Readable,
broad appeal, and appropriate for intended audience
- Promotes
discussion and exchange of ideas
- Priced affordably and readily available
in several formats, including paperback, large print, and audio books
