Hike Our Preserves! (HOP program)
Together in partnership with Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy, we are bringing this program to get healthy while exploring nature! What a fun way to explore the woods, fields, and water. Or visit www.swmlc.org/hop. Visit all preserves for FREE from dawn to dusk. At this time, the South Haven Memorial Library is offering to pay for the HOP program registration. Once registered, we will provide a hiking stick. Ask us at the circulation desk for more details.

City of South Haven’s Touch-a-Truck Event
Join us at the Touch a Truck event sponsored by the City of South Haven! We will be under the Huron Pavilion with some fun activities and informational bookbags. Visit our booth and say hello!
Story Time Tuesdays is BACK!!
Story Time Tuesdays is BACK!! Stop in, listen to Ms. Doni read a story and then make a craft. Story time Tuesdays begins on September 8, 2026 through May 25, 2027 at 11am in the South Haven Memorial Library community room. There will be NO story time on December 22 & 29 due to the holiday. September Library Card Sign-Up Month
September is library card sign-up month. If you don’t have a library card, come in to your South Haven Memorial Library and we will get you started. We will have a goody bag for our new library card patrons plus other fun things happening in the month of September. Be sure to stay tuned. Uniquely You Bookbags
South Haven Memorial Library has partnered with Bronson and South Haven Center for the Arts to explore stories about what makes everyone different and celebrate our UNIQUENESS! Stop by the library and check these bookbags. Each bookbag will contain 3 library books along with some fun activities.
Play-Doh Play Date
Play-Doh Play Date is a hands-on group activity for young ones that features open-ended sensory play, creative shaping, & sharing tools. Let the kids take the lid off their imaginations & explore their creativity. Join us at 11am on the 1st Friday of each month from September 2026 – May 2027. No program in January 2027. All programs are based on any closures due to weather or other reasons. Visit our social media & website for updates.
ART Play Day with SHCA
Come show your art skills at the South Haven Memorial Library. South Haven Center for the Arts is having an ART play day the 2nd Friday of each month in the library’s community room. This program is geared toward ages 3-5 years old, siblings are welcome. FREE event.
Messy Play
Messy play is open-ended sensory exploration where young ones can use their hands & tools to investigate textures through touch, sight, & sound by pouring, squishing, & stirring that builds motor coordination. Join us on the 3rd Friday of each month from September 2026 – May 2027 (weather-permitting). Bring your play clothes, it will get MESSY! Visit our social media outlets for updates.
